  • 2 pounds country-style pork ribs
  • 1 tablespoon bacon grease
  • 1/4 cup sugar-free pancake syrup
  • 2 tablespoons barbecue sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sauce
  • 2 drops EZ-Sweetz (4 servings)
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth

In a big, heavy skillet, over medium-high heat, brown the coutry-style ribs

all over in the bacon grease. Mix together everything else and pour into the skillet,

Cover with a lid, but leave a crack—tilt the lid a little, turn your burner to low, and let the rib simmer for a about 40 minutes. Check from time to make sure all the liquid hasn't cooked away, and add a tablespoon or two of broth if they are drying out. You want the sauce to cook down and thicken up, but not cook away and let your meat burn.

Serve with the sauce from the skillet over them.

Tip:  Do use the low-sodium broth for this, otherwise your finished sauce will be quite salty, from the broth cooking down and concentrating.

Stubbs brand barbecue sauce is lower in sugar; sugar-free barbecue sauce will lower the carb count even more.
